I knew Dan for over two decades. Played music with him over the years, many tours and many more recording sessions. He graciously put me up at his apartment for a decade. First thing he would do when he woke up was drop the needle onto record and hand grind us coffee. He was a special person and those who knew him felt very lucky to have him in our lives and able to call him a friend. He was the nicest, selfless, genuine, talented and most infectious person I’ve ever know. Rest in Peace dear friend. You will extremely missed by all.
In all sincerity

"First thing he would do when he woke up was drop the needle onto record and hand grind us coffee." This sentence resonates. I loved chilling with Dan in the morning when we'd visit him. Just an ease before the day hit. It's a comforting memory.
